Hey guys,
My name is Joey and I produce future-funk under the moniker “Pure Colors”. In the past, I struggled to find the best way to get blogs to even respond to my submissions, let alone agree to post my tracks.
I follow Budi Voogt and Heroic Academy and I stumbled across an article titled "Mastering Music PR: Getting On Music Blogs & Hype Machine”. In this article, Budi and Jeffrey break down exactly how to build your own Hype Machine contact list by finding the personal contact info of bloggers who post similar music on Hype Machine.
It’s a great article, but it was taking me a long time to manually find these bloggers. So I decided to hire a freelancer to do this for me. I gained 150 personal email addresses, first names, and personal twitter handles of Hype Machine bloggers, in two days...And it didn’t cost much at all.
This process did wonders for my latest track. And most importantly, it saved me a ton of time and energy, allowing me to focus on creating music. It gave me a foundation and now I can send each additional single out to those 150 personal email addresses, as well as find new contacts over time.
Here’s the article, where I describe this process in depth: https://heroic.academy/150-hype-machine-contacts-in-two-days-using-freelancers/. My goal is that this article helps any bedroom producer learn a sure-fire way to efficiently get your music heard by tastemakers :D
