What is the difference between the two?
Is there a reason why people choose to do one or the other?
Does sidechain compression distort the tune or does anything to the frequency content other than what volume automation would do?
Like for instance if people use multiband compressors to sidechain specific frequencies, wouldnt that somehow change the "sound"?
What I'm really asking here is; What is the preferred and least troublesome way of ducking volume?
