I've read some great advice on here about getting gigs, the general guidance being network like crazy with the promoters and venues locally. I'm pretty sure I have precisely nothing local. I live two hours from Vegas, so I could occasionally drop in there (More occasionally if I were getting payed to play there), but that's about my only option for now. I'd like to move to LA, but until this, or some other opportunity can cover the cost of such a move, I'm stuck here. What can I do? How can I make connections with Vegas and LA people without living there? Subquestion: is live DJing still the best way for producers to break into this world?
