Are there any really basic tips for mixing a song for people who aren't very serious about their music but like to sometimes save a few demos? I have Ableton and some hardware.
I'm looking for really simple stuff like: Just use Ableton EQ presets for kicks, snares, hats. I know to leave the kick in the middle, but where to place the snare and synth parts? I know strings/pads generally work well in the middle of a mix. Any really basic compression tips?
