Well, here is my first post on reddit ever and I hope I'll be able to contribute to this awesome sub as much as everybody does.
The main reason why I decided to join is because I finally saw peoples with actual, real answers concerning the whole music industry.
So here goes my first question:
I am currently finishing a track, some minor tweaking and improvements to do, but I am happy with my work so far.
Now the next logical step, as everybody I know says, would be to send it out !
But here is my concern. I have no fans, no follower whatsoever except for my close relatives, no Facebook nor twitter page... And frankly I have no idea how to manage all that, what to do, how or when... On the other hand, I have chosen several labels that I know would correspond the tune I wrote, and seriously I'm motivated. Like hell.
So... Is it okay to send them my work even if I'm not Axwell ? What do I tell them ? I am truly passionate by music, had a few non-major club gigs in hungary and switzerland, I know how to Dj, the only real flaw here is that I have no fanbase. In these conditions is it wise for me to send my work to labels ? What are the odds for it to work and how important of a criteria is it for a label to have an new comer with/without any fan ?
Sorry for the big ass post, but it feels good to finally lay down my concern in a place where I might get an interesting answer ! Thanks to all those who will take the time ! :)
edit: typo and there might be more
