A simple question really. I understand that in a song where the vocals are custom made that the artist either has the option to buy out the vocalist out or simply credit them.
Seemingly this is different when the vocals are sampled from another song or something else. If you were to just cut the vocals and it change them from that of the original song and use it in your own (copyright free), would you have to credit? How far do they need to be changed in order for the vocals to be considered "yours"?
