Hey guys sorry for what is probably a really dumb question. I'm very very new to sound production / making music (like less than a month) and after playing around with some synths in Reaper for the past week or so I've been trying to figure out how to lay down some drum tracks.
I installed GTG DPC 3 and added it to a new track as a virtual instrument. Everything works nicely but when I try to replace the standard drum samples with some other ones I downloaded I get this error and the VST crashes:
"Wave Player: This WAVE file format is not supported. Convert it to 16 bit uncompressed mono or stereo"
This is the pack of samples I downloaded btw, thought I've tried a few other random sample packs and all give me the same error.
As I said, I'm super new to this so I'm not even sure what "16 bit uncompressed" means. I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos on the basics of sound production in order to gain a better fundamental understanding of what basic terminology like that means but I haven't gotten that far yet.
Any idea what I am doing wrong? Is there another pack of samples I should download or is there a way to convert the ones I have into the proper format. I thought since they are .wav they should work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
