Im wondering what are your thoughts on this:
Example: Say you are writing song in F. There are no F#s notes in your song. However as we know when we have synths and percussion they will take up a wide range of frequencies. So to clean up your mix you add an Eq on each of your synths, lets say, and u set each band on the frequency of F# from the lows up to the 2 thousand mark or whatever. Then you make each one (is it a band pass?) to cut that freqency out.
Result: all F# frequencies are cut out of the sound so it makes your sound more in tune with the key of the song.
I actually tries something like this on white noise and it worked very well.
Is this called harmonic mixing? And do anyone here do this?
