Recently got the Waves NX Virtual Room plugin as I have to use headphones a good chunk of the time when I'm mixing. The plugin is great, but the only problem area of my mix that I'm finding when I use NX is my kick. My synths, other drum parts, bass all sound fine, but my kick sounds like trash. It's mostly a boxey type sound in the lower/low-mid frequencies.
I can't seem to find any articles online as to why my kick sounds like this and how to fix it, so here I am.
