I really like the sound when my kicks are clipped by ableton live through the track and the master. I have this kick right now which is purposely red-lining it's track and master, but whenever I try to sample it (I've tried outputting the audio, re-sampling etc.) and load it back into live, it loses that really nice colour and crunch. I understand that volume would be an issue, but even when I turn my monitors up, it still sounds different. It sounds more tame and just isn't as booming.
Is there any way I can sample it exactly as it sounds from live?
Edit: This time, I just routed a TS cable from my headphones output to an input and recorded it and it worked fine, but I still think there should be an easier way
