Hey Learnmusic,
I've looked through this subreddit and haven't been able to find quite what I need.
My background: I learned how to play the electronic keyboard, can read music (slowly), know a little music theory, but not much.
What I want: How to choose a flute, and what material to use to learn.
I'm interested in flutes, but am lost how to decide which one to get. Which scale to buy, how that impacts my learning, where I should get them (I live near SF, for reference), etc. I have a decent budget, but I'd like to not get too overboard (<$200, unless there's a very good reason to go more). Definitely not enough to take lessons.
I also want to learn it ... correctly - using my fingers gracefully, with good technique, rather than just awkwardly using them in a way that works.
Thank you all!
