Can anyone help me understand why making EQ cuts on an instrument can result in an increase in output level?
I made low and high cuts to a single instrument to get rid of unnecessary frequencies and the overall level of the track increased by about 2 db. It seems like cutting out frequencies should have the opposite effect.
