I'm trying to use a vocoder (Razor plugin in Ableton) but I can't figure out how to get real-time playback of JUST the vocoder output through my speakers without hearing my original voice from the mic.
So I have my keyboard sending MIDI to the Razor plugin which is on audio track 1. The Razor plugin is also receiving audio input from my microphone on audio track 1. I then send the output of audio track 1 to a separate audio track 2 so I can have the vocoder output on its own track separate from the original mic input. While I'm recording, I hear both my own voice and the vocoder effects in my monitors. I can then playback just audio track 2 to hear it without my voice, but this requires me to pre-record everything. I can't figure out how to have real-time playback from the vocoder output on audio track 2 and not hear my original mic input from audio track 1. If I try and mute the track with the microphone, all output gets killed. I feel like I'm missing something simple. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
