I've been producing hip hop beats for the past 4 years. Recently heard Worlds which lead me to Language & Shelter. How does one begin to produce tracks like this? A general outline on where to start would be much appreciated. I have been starting out with a bassline then adding a melody over the bassline + layering, but the result isn't turning out as I would have hoped (no, I did not expect to jump right in and be amazing, just explaining my workflow thus far). Any pointers would be awesome, thanks!
