I'm about to start school so I'm looking to upgrade to a new Mac that will last me at least four years while taking kind of a beating. I'll be regularly running Ableton, Serato, Maschine, the entire Adobe Creative Suite, and any other auxiliary software required for my program.
Part of me wants to bite the bullet and go for the new MacBook Pro with upgraded specs since I will most likely upgrade one day anyway but a lot of my producer friends are urging me to go with an older model with the same upgraded specs.
Does anyone have the new MacBook Pro? If so, how do you like it for producing/is it worth the hype? Last but not least, how much of a pain in the dick is the new universal port thing?
