This is probably a really dumb question, but when using synths like Serum which offer a dedicated " Sub-Oscillator" to reinforce the low end of sounds, how loud should the sub be? Would the only logical approach be to use a pink noise reference, or is there a less complicated way to do it? I know that this is something that shouldn't take much consideration, but I feel like I'm lacking some pretty obvious, basic information here. How much sub should a bass have, relative to the volume of the other oscillators? How do I determine this? And how can I avoid phasing issues without using a separate bass entirely?
