I am considering purchasing an erhu and self teaching myself because I adore the sound of it. For anyone who has played the erhu before, how hard is the learning curve compared to the violin.
I have 8 years of violin experience under my belt so that is why I am making the comparison but I want to know the learning curve because I'm currently a college student and I won't have too much time to invest in a new instrument. If it takes as much, if not more, practice and discipline to learn learn a violin, I will probably lose interest over time as I won't be actively learning the instrument.
