I've been listening to a lot of AWAY recently and in all his drops have this weird metallic texture that sounds like FM to me. Example at 1:25 (https://soundcloud.com/bornsmusic/american-money-away-remix). Now, I know virtually nothing about FM but I can somewhat discern when it's being used. Even if this example of FM, can FM synthesis be used to create unique texture supersaws, and have any of you done such a thing? All my attempts to recreate the sound came up very short.
