I've been on a Venetian Snares kick recently and one of the most interesting things about his music is his unusual choice in time signatures.
I've been trying to figure out this one song for a while but I'm stumped. For example, when I'm trying to count the beginning I end up with half measures? Like it sounds like the beat is behind at times but then it catches up -- this makes it difficult for me to figure out what's going on.
What's the best way to go about counting songs like this? I'm starting to think there's multiple time signatures in here.
