Hi, all, I'm using that perfect ear app or whatever, and I'm having trouble with actually hearing the difference between intervals. For those that don't know, it trains your ear by playing you two intervals and asks which one is larger.
When they're common roots it's really easy for me: just have to listen for the higher interval for ascending and the lower one for descending. But when it's random roots, I'm completely at a loss.
What should I be listening for? What kind of cues do you listen for? Should I be listening for specific intervals (i.e. instead of directly comparing them, should I try to identify the intervals then decide)?
