Hi everyone! I always had trouble making chords. I don't know a lot of music theory, I just know triads and how to make major and minor chords. But, whenever I think of a chord progression in my head, there is a note of the chord that stands out, so it can be "humed". I can never make a chord that equals to what I tought in my head. This also happens when I am trying to remake some songs. As you "hum" the chord progressions, you just "hum" 1 note of the whole chord, because you can't "hum" more than 1 sound at the same time (at least me xD), and I can't figure out how to make a chord out of the note I think of. I usually try and make that note a root note, and create a minor or major chord from that. Or I do it backwards as sometimes the top note of the chord is the one that stands out. Once I can't manage to get the right chords from the song I am trying to remake I check remakes on youtube... then I find it was a chord of 4,5, or 6 notes! I don't understand these combos and never found any explaination for this. Or even a triad chord with notes in a lower or higher octave. I can't understand how producers think of this and move those notes octaves up and down, and add 2 more notes to make the chord they want. Thanks for reading this. Hope this is not confusing for you ;)
