It doesn't take five years to learn how to make meaningful and compelling art. There is no magical barrier to entry, no music is truly unreleasable. I release albums a bit more rapidly than others, and I would call some of them complete garbage, but there hasn't been one album that I haven't gotten positive feedback for. Completely anonymous online feedback mind you.
Sure, you can make music for yourself and not for the random people who'll end up liking it, but when the plight to please your own standards turns to suffering, it's just not worth it. Especially when just as much enjoyment could be brought into someone else's life while lowering your own workload. Don't wait until you're calvin harris, make art for art's sake.
