So I'm pretty set on getting the Tannoy Reveal 502s. I was looking at the 802s for a while but have been convinced that I don't need quite so much bass since I will be sitting no more than a meter away from them at the end of a pretty small room (14'*8'). Is this true? Right now I am trying decide whether to get some stands for them, or just some absorption pads. I'm aware that stands will probably be better, but those little bits of foam are looking to be really nice for my bank account.
On top of this I need to get an audio interface. The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 looks great, but I also have an Arturia Microbrute that I'd like to hook up to my PC and I don't know if it would be able to process both my Microbrute and my monitors, or if I would need to get the 2i4. I've had a look at cheaper brands but the fact you can pick up Behringer interfaces for $20 from Amazon makes me wary of going too cheap.
Then we get into the realm of acoustic room treatment which seems very daunting. Does anyone have any first hand experience with this and can tell me if I should bother? I'm unsure as to whether this is a serious issue, or if these are very subtle differences that can mostly be achieved by good speaker placement. I have a fair amount of clutter in my room and feel like acoustic treatment may be a bit awkward to implement.
Thanks in advance for any insight!
