1) I'm opening up a new project, I want my track to be 70bpm. Is there an advantage or disadvantage of putting my track at 140bpm instead of 70bpm? Or is it EXACTLY the same thing?
2) How can you get a huge clap/snare without having huge peaks in your mix? Does this actually depend on the sample? I've had loud claps make barely no peaks while claps I could barely hear creating swiss alp mountains in my mix.
3) What are you strategies for stereo width? Does duplicating a track, hard panning each left and right a good idea? Why? Why not? What are some other techniques?
4) How important is it for every single elements in a track including hi hats and kick to be in key with the rest of the track? I even heard the bass needs to be in key, the fuck does that even mean?
5) Is there a chart demonstrating what elements should be at what frequency on a grid?
6) Does white noise have a key? I'm talking specifically sweeps and sweep downs? Do they need to be "in key" with your track?
7) How do you figure out what key these things are in? How can I possibly know what key a kick, clap or hi hat is in?
Thank you, I truly feel knowing the answer to these questions will greatly improve my game.
