Sit down the do the damn work. I'm tired of seeing all these posts about "being stuck" or "feel like you're never going to make it." With a mindset like that, you are NOT going to get any better. We live in a very fortunate time where we're able to learn how to do almost anything off the internet so put the time into research and compare what you see...and most importantly, try it out for yourself. People love to get spood-fed information, but you will truly not understand a concept unless you try it yourself.
There's no short cut if you want to be an amazing artist. I'm about to hit my 3rd year producing and I've been going hard at it every single day/night and stopped bitching a long time ago about not getting better and simply put the time into it. Obviously I'm by no means a professional, but I'm passionate enough to put time into it day & night, hitting plateaus, working through the struggle, etc. it's all part of being a creative individual.
If you need to jumpstart your Monday morning with a slap in the face with some motivation, sign up for GFDA's Monday Weekly Advice. Sometimes you need a wall of text to be yelling at you to realize what you need to do.
This subreddit has helped me tremendously with all the discussion, samples/presents, but I just wanted to speak up because the quality of content has been subpar recently.
I want everyone to continuously improve, contribute and grow with this community.
