So I'm a very early beginner to this stuff, and I don't focus 100% of my energy on it yet but I definitely do more than just dabble. My biggest obstacle was creating a track that I actually like and am excited about. Yeah it's a vague obstacle but I feel like that's the first real step toward my goal. This track is pretty short so far, but I'm mainly trying to get my actual composition techniques down well enough to venture into a whole song. My problem is I have no goddamn clue where to start with creating ambient background noise and music. I have chopped up vocal layer, 2 separate layers for the beat, and like one of two layers of a few random sounds and samples that I felt fit the song. But I listen to other people's stuff and there's always like 20 different layers of sound. Can anybody help me out with how you go about creating that ambient background that gives life into the song?
