It seems like I am missing something when it comes to producing music compared to mainstream artists like chainsmokers etc. What are they doing differently?
I've invested in Fl12 have serum, spire and electrax and going to buy grossbeat and Nexus soon also a new laptop. But when it comes to production I get stuck. I have my kicks calls high hats. Usually start off with a melody or drums. But can only really write 8 to 16 bars of music but usually get lost with 8 bars and lose motivation I usually use 3 synths and have like 10 or 12 patterns of music. Does anyone else have this problem? My music is nothing compared to artists like yellow claw etc.
What are some ways to improve? Create your own samples, sample from YouTube etc Get quality drum samples like vengeance or from splice? Still looking for decent 808s Learn how to automate your plugins and start to learn sound design? Song structure.
A lot of tutorials are your basic 8 bars of music like Busy works beats, D March and Studio Plug they don't really teach you what mainstream artists are doing and how they are successful but then again there are some tutorials with like 48 patterns.
There are Fruity Loops Projects you can to learn structure which I'm trying to find. Any suggestions.
Any good music forums or resources out there that you could recommend.
Cheers in advance for advice!
