sorry if this is a weird question; this memory just popped in my head.
I'm currently a 17 year old choir kid, but when I was 8 I played the violin for a few months. i wasn't perfect at it by no means. however, I do recall playing all of one of my favorite songs by ear, no sheet music. just based of memory and how it sounded.
i did get told I had perfect pitch when I was 14, so maybe that has something to do with it? even nowadays, if someone were to ask for the chords of a popular song I could somewhat plunk them out on a piano. is this a rare skill?
