**I apologize if this has been posted lots before, I’m a bit overwhelmed by all of the info out there and many posts/resources require a bit of experience or knowledge on music theory.
Hello, I’m 24 and I’ve always loved music. I love electronic instrumental stuff and I have a really keen ear for it. I find myself dancing and air drumming or air piano playing all the time to every little part of music. I saw that Steve Lacy learned how to produce music in GarageBand, as did Grimes (partially). That really stuck with me and made it feel like I can do it. I’m a lot happier in life too which helps and I’m just super called to music making. I don’t know anything though, at all. I’m also unemployed at the moment with a little bit trickling in here and there, but no money overall. This is just a passion thing. I have a new PC, just your standard office work computer nothing too fancy. I’d like to use that to learn and get into it. I intuitively know what I’m doing by sound, I can easily fill a gap in sounds and know what sounds good by ear, but that’s it. Any tips or advice on where to start, and apps I should use (must be free)? Should I study from the basics up or just jump in?
Thank you ☺️
