I basically just need any form of advice on this, preferably from others who know this problem very well. I put together some amazing music quite often, but before I know it I’ve ruined my whole project from messing around with too many things and being too experimental. I sit there for like 10-15, maybe even 20 minutes playing a whole bunch of different chord progressions that all sound good in their own way. Then I don’t know which one to pick. I might even get tired of hearing them and decide that I don’t want to use ANY of the ideas I’ve come up with, making everything a complete waste of potentially productive time. I think I might just need a different type of outlook to how I treat my music. Considering that I’m not far off from my very noobish times, my habits just might still be sticking on me. I won’t lie, throughout typing this I may have just figured out part of the answer I needed. I’ll still post this to see if I can get any feedback that might help me piece together what it is that I need to fix. Is this problem even at all common among the rest of you?
EDIT: I just wanna be more clear, my problem is not specifically chord progressions. The problem is not committing to an idea.
