Howdy folks - perhaps you can help me.
I caught wind of a remix competition through a FB group of local producers and I've been (largely unsuccessfully) attempting to understand the nuances of the legalese wall of text that is the TOS on the website hosting the competition (metapop).
Here's a link directly to the TOS
First and foremost - does anything stand out as sketchy, unfavourable, or undesirable? Parsing this kind of content is not my forte.
If, for instance, I were to upload a remix that made some use of my own personal sample library of self-made original content (hits, risers, synth patches, or what-have-you) would I be transferring ownership of that content to metapop and forfeiting my rights to legally use those sounds in my other productions - future and past?
I've attempted to source the info from the FB group that advertised the contest as well as from metapop but was met with annoyance and hostility from the former and silence from the latter (I understand it's the weekend, but c'mon banker's hours are for bankers, amirite?).
I'd appreciate any clarification or insight anybody's able to provide - thanks in advance!
