Hey, I hate to make one of these posts, but I was given the chance to purchase a new VST and I have to make a decision fairly quick so I’m turning to the powers of Reddit to suggest the best VST for fleshing out my drum and bass songs.
I use logic, and I already have serum, but I feel like my songs sound pretty “fake” or not professional, and while I will Be the first person to blame my experience and not enough time spent in sound design but I do feel like I’m lacking in terms of, quality pads, basses, and drums. I recognize that serum can do all of these things but It’s the only VST I have and I want to diversify my sounds and sound library.
Right now I’m thinking about Absynth 5 or Komplete 11 select. That’s sort of my price range. I really enjoy the sounds that Absynth can make but I also enjoy drum lab and massive is a bonus, I can layer the drum lab drums with logic’s acoustic kits to make some cool Drums but then again I could just synthesize them. I’ve also heard mention of Z3TA but i haven’t looked into it, would anyone recommend it for neuro-y bass sounds? My #1 goal is to make some crazy warping bass sounds that aren’t cheesy.
Feel free to recommend any other plugins as well! I thought about spending it on trash 2 or neutron for some distortion/mastering but it isn’t as “fun” haha.
So let me know what you guys think!
Edit: Disregard basses, I’m only interested in pads, leads, or drum capability.
