Hey guys, I have 2 tracks that I've produced, and I've used basically the same mastering chain on each track. Light compression, MB compression, tiny bit of reverb, slight EQ, and then some pretty heavy limiting.
Both of these tracks are maxing out around -3dB RMS. So why is one so much quieter than the other?
They've been mixed and mastered by the same guy (me) using the same techniques/methods that I've been using for years. For some reason, that loud track ^ was just much easier to get loud, even tho I used to same limiters and everything. The other track started to distort when I tried to push it that loud. Any ideas?
