I've got a Martin LX1E, the same guitar Ed Sheeran uses. It's got a 1/4in output for a guitar cable. I also have a Shure (SM 58?) dynamic mic. I can play guitar, and I like to do some percussion by hitting different parts of the guitar. I feel like I could get some really cool textures if I mixed some cool acoustic guitar with some EDM know how.
When I record, it always sounds hollow. None of my percussion sounds "heavy", just thin and weak. I've tried it going line in through my audio interface (Scarlette Focusrite 2i2), pointing the mic at different locations on the guitar, just about everything I can think of.
Does anyone have any tips for recording some better sounding guitar samples? Thanks, I appreciate it!
