How does DJ Mustard make his signature bass sound so fat and clean even though he has 808s underneath? I've got similar basses from Omnisphere/Serum (organ and a mini moog) and whenever I cut off at 100-150hz and put an 808 underneath it sounds so muddy and messy. If you listen to Paranoid by him, that's a great example.
I understand he is no master producer but very good at what he does, hence why Chris Brown/Kid Ink/Travis Scott etc make songs with him all the time. From what I can get he leaves a lot of head room to make the mix sound clean.
I am making a Deep house track and I have an interlude that has a Mustard vibe to it so any advice is appreciated.
