Here are couple videos I recorded of myself playing two songs that I've been working on this week.
- Opus 35 by Dustin O'Halloran
- Ice Skaters by Emile Waldteufel (from Adult Piano Adventures 1)
I've been working my way through this book and taking weekly 30-minute private lessons. I'm actually proud of this performance if only because it's a huge leap from where I was when I first sat down three weeks ago.
I have my own critiques, but I would appreciate any outside opinions as well. Here's what I think:
- My rhythm needs work (it sounded better to me while playing)
- My right 4th left 4th and 5th fingertips flatten out as I depress the keys; I'd like to keep the "orb-holding" hand position
- I'm a little hunched and definitely tense (my hands were shaking)
- Need to make better use of the pedal, not just holding it down throughout Opus 35 (although you can't really hear it in this video)
- Improve sound recording a face-showing in video
Other feedback?
Thanks!
