Hey there,
first of all: Please excuse mistakes I make. I am no native speaker, so there'll probably be some ;)
I am "producing" music for quite a while now, but it is only a hobby and I am still kind of a beginner. If you are interested, this is my soundcloud profile and my best song so far is probably El Ritmo.
I started making music by using Fruity Loops and I still use FL Studio 12 as DAW. I recently sold my microKorg and bought a Maschine MK II, because I felt like this was THE thing, I always needed. As it was new, I made beats over beats and the results where a lot better than with only FL and a midi keyboard.
Now, I feel like a Maschine alone isn't enough to build a whole track. It is nice to setup the drums and other beat parts, but as soon as I need to get a lead or a bassline, I don't feel comfortable with only the Maschine. That's why I want to buy a MIDI keyboard.
But there are so many!! I just don't know, what I should buy. I don't want to spend too much money and I think, since I own the Maschine, I only need keys and probably some endless knobs.
First question: Is it possible to set up FL Studio 12 with the Maschine connected to the Maschine 2 Software and also connect a MIDI Keyboard (via USB?) to control the Piano Roll in FL? I hope so.
Second question: What do you think would best fit my needs? Is there a good addition to the Maschine? I mean, I think I will continue making beats with Maschine, but I want I keyboard for melodies. Am I right?
The keyboard should have 49 keys, because I feel better with more than just two octaves. What are other specs I should look for? I guess I need no pads, because the Maschine already has pads? So do I just look for a cheap price?
I hope you guys can give me some tips, what will be a good choice for me.
Thanks in advance!
Cheers
