Hi guys! I'm a relative newb in terms of music production, started making trap and boom bap hip hop music a few month past(using FL studio 12) and only made about 3 completely finished tracks so far. I can definitely see improvement, and I am going to continue working on this genre, but I would also like to dip into edm! I know it's a bit early to bounce between genres, but I've been itching to make different types of music, because even if hip hop is the music that speaks to my soul, I haven't exactly found my 'style' yet, and thought experimenting would help heaps with that. EDM definitely seems to be a able to get a lot more complex and challenging, and so I was wondering if there any tips for somebody that doesn't know a whole lot about edm itself, maybe some advice tailored for transitioning from hip hop to edm, specifically things like 'getting out of the loop', hip hop elements that generally aren't in edm and vice versa.
